Kristina Bieker-Brady has been with Clark+Elbing since the firm was founded in 1996 and has been a Partner since 1999. Prior to that she was at Fish & Richardson, P.C., from 1992 to 1996.
Kristina's practice includes advising clients on matters relating to patent prosecution, including portfolio management; patentability, noninfringement and invalidity opinions; licensing and joint development agreements; patent enforcement; and investment due diligence for both private financings and IPO's. Her expertise encompasses small molecule, synthetic polymer, protein, nucleic acid (including RNAi, antisense, and micro RNA), and antibody technologies, as well as their application in fields such as neurobiology, immunology, cancer, apoptosis, microbiology (including vaccines and therapeutics), biodefense, tissue regeneration and transplantation, pleuripotent cell isolation and differentiation, drug delivery, drug discovery, and nanoscience. Kristina also has extensive experience with intellectual property issues in the medical device field, particularly in the areas of diagnostic and interventional cardiology, pulmonology, neurology, and oncology.
During her academic career, Dr. Bieker-Brady conducted cell biology, genetics, and neurobiology research using molecular biology and biochemistry techniques. Select first-author research and review articles have been published in Cell, EMBO Journal, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Genomics, and Trends in Genetics.
