PhD Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry, Yale University
BS cum laude Chemistry, University of California, Irvine
Thanh Erion joined Clark+Elbing in 2012. Her work involves the drafting and prosecution of patent applications, primarily in the fields of molecular biology and biochemistry.
Thanh's research employed a variety of biochemical techniques to elucidate a novel cooperative ligand binding mechanism in a class of RNA regulatory elements known as riboswitches. In her doctoral studies, Thanh developed a technique for studying the tertiary RNA interactions in the double ligand binding domains of the glycine riboswitch. Her work suggested key tertiary contacts between the RNA domains resulting in cooperative ligand binding and has been published in the journal RNA. She has also co-authored research articles in the journals Biochemistry, and PNAS.
