PhD Biological and Biomedical Sciences, Harvard Medical School
BS, summa cum laude, Crop Biotechnology and Molecular Biology, University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana
David Shore joined Clark+Elbing in 2012.
David's research utilized genetic techniques and RNA interference to dissect molecular mechanisms that mediate lifespan extension. David identified many genetic perturbations that extend the lifespan of animals in the laboratory, conferring up to ten-fold increases in longevity. These animals are also tolerant of diverse stressors, such as oxidative damage, protein misfolding, irradiation and exposure to antibiotics. David's experiments revealed pathways that mediate these phenotypes, coupling longevity and cell-protective functions. His research is forthcoming in PLoS Genetics and other journals.
