Todd Armstrong has been at Clark & Elbing since 2001. His work involves patent prosecution in the fields of cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and pharmaceuticals. He works with clients to protect innovations related to therapeutics for the treatment of cancer and inflammatory and autoimmune diseases; drug screening and discovery; stem cell technology; transgenic animals; human gene therapy; bone substitute materials; and drug delivery and diagnostic devices. Todd also assists in the preparation of patentability, non-infringement, and freedom-to-operate opinions.

Todd’s doctoral studies identified structural features of the Influenza virus hemagglutinin protein required for hemagglutinin-mediated viral/cell membrane fusion. His research employed cellular and molecular techniques, tissue culture, confocal microscopy, fluorescence-activated cell sorting, and circular dichroism spectroscopy. His research has been published in the Journal of Cell Biology, Journal of Virology, and Molecular Biology of the Cell.
