Helen Baca joined Clark & Elbing in 2009. Her work involves patent prosecution and opinion work, including assisting in the preparation of patentability, non-infringement, invalidity, and freedom-to-operate opinions. She works with clients to protect innovations related to medical devices; drug delivery; small molecule therapeutics; polymer chemistry; drug screening and discovery; and medical diagnostics.
Helen’s doctoral research focused on developing droplet-based microfluidic devices. This research was interdisciplinary, combining the fields of chemistry, biology, physics, and engineering. She has co-authored publications in several journals, including Angewandte Chemie, Applied Physics Letters, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Langmuir, and Analytical Chemistry.
