Christine Espino joined Clark & Elbing in 2007. Her work focuses on the drafting and prosecution of patent applications, primarily in the chemical and pharmaceutical sciences.

Christine’s research focused on the development and mechanistic study of synthetically useful metal-mediated transformations. In her doctoral studies, Christine developed a new approach to the synthesis of nitrogen-containing small molecules. This research culminated in a new, commercially available rhodium catalyst for organic synthesis. As a post-doctoral fellow at MIT, she explored strategies for the post-polymerization modification of conjugated organic materials. Christine’s research has been published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society, Angewandte Chemie, and Organic Letters.
