Michael Robinson has been at Clark & Elbing LLP since 2005 and an associate since 2009.  His work involves patent prosecution, opinion work, and investment due diligence, primarily in the fields of pharmaceuticals and molecular biology.  Michael works with clients to protect innovations related to small molecule therapeutics; biologics; molecular diagnostics; drug screening and discovery; medical devices; and software.  He also assists in the preparation of patentability, non-infringement, invalidity, and freedom-to-operate opinions. In addition, Michael has experience in interference practice.

Michael’s doctoral research employed a variety of biophysical techniques, including NMR and X-ray crystallography structure determination methods, mass spectrometry, and isothermal titration calorimetry, to study the structure and function of yeast nuclear pore proteins.  Michael’s research bridged the fields of physics, computing, molecular biology, and biochemistry. He has co-authored publications in The EMBO Journal, Virology, Structure, and the Journal of Biological Chemistry.
