PhD Immunology/Virology, Univ. of Massachusetts Medical School
BA Biochemistry & Molecular Biology; Classical Studies, Dartmouth College

Zachary Scott joined Clark & Elbing in 2007. His work involves drafting and prosecution of patent applications in the biological sciences, especially matters involving immunology, virology, transplantation, vaccines, and gene therapy. Zach also assists in the preparation of patentability, non-infringement, and freedom-to-operate opinions.

Zach’s research focused on many aspects of adaptive immunology. His doctoral work characterized and defined HIV-specific immune responses generated by infants infected with the virus through maternal transmission. His research was incorporated into the design of a novel HIV vaccine for infants and children. As a post-doctoral fellow at Dartmouth Medical School, Zach used lentiviral vectors to study the role of regulatory T cells in the context of transplantation tolerance. Zach has authored publications in the Journal of Immunology, Chemistry and Biology, and Nature.
