Jan Tittel joined Clark & Elbing in 2000 and became an associate in 2006. His work involves patent prosecution in the fields of molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, and immunology. Jan works with clients to protect innovations related to therapeutics for the treatment of cancer, autoimmune diseases, and viral infections; drug screening and discovery; molecular diagnostics; plant disease resistance; transgenic animals and plants; and human gene therapy. He also assists in the preparation of patentability and freedom-to-operate opinions as well as in the prosecution of trademark applications.

Jan’s doctoral research employed genetic, cellular and molecular biology, and confocal microscopy methods to study the regulation of programmed cell death. He is a co-author of a research article in Molecular Cell and a review article published in Genome Biology.
