Lisa A. Hawver, Ph.D.

Lisa leverages her scientific knowledge in chemistry, biochemistry, and microbiology to assist clients in drafting and prosecuting both biological and chemical patent applications and performing due diligence and freedom-to-operate analyses.

Lisa’s doctoral research at Northeastern University focused on investigating the specificity of E. coli DNA polymerase V, which specializes in bypassing photoproducts of UV radiation. She completed her post-doctoral studies at Tufts University, where she studied how the metabolic stress response affects quorum sensing in Vibrio cholera.

Prior to joining C+E, Lisa practiced IP law at another Boston area law firm and held in-house positions at both a biologics company and a small molecule company. Her experience working both in private practice and in-house gives her a well-rounded perspective on client priorities and how best to address their needs.
