Ami applies her scientific expertise in organic chemistry and drug discovery to assist clients in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications.
Ami’s doctoral research at Northeastern University focused on the design and synthesis of 4(1H)-quinolones with antimalarial activities. Additionally, Ami completed a co-op at GSK as a graduate student, where her role was to design and synthesize novel compounds following DNA-encoded library screening. In her postdoctoral studies at Emory Institute for Drug Development, Emory University, Ami’s research focused on the design and synthesis of non-canonical nucleosides with broad-spectrum antiviral activity. While at Emory University, Ami also served as a patent group intern at the Office of Technology Transfer.
Ami is a co-inventor on a patent from her doctoral research, has co-authored articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, including the European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, ACS Infectious Diseases, and Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, and has authored a chapter in Plasmodium Species and Drug Resistance.
