Lisa is a medicinal chemist and chemical biologist who applies her technical experience to assist clients in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications.
Lisa’s doctoral research at the University of Illinois Chicago focused on natural products active at the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors to probe their utility in treating substance use disorders. She synthesized analogues of alkaloids found in the Aristotelia family and established two orthogonal cell-based assays to determine receptor activity and identify lead compounds. She has also conducted research in supramolecular synthesis and catalysis.
Lisa is a co-inventor on a patent from her doctoral research and has authored articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, including the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, ACS Med Chem Letters, and Organic Letters.
