Tim applies his background in organic chemistry to assist clients in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications.
Tim’s doctoral research at the University of Notre Dame focused on synthesizing small oligosaccharides of biological importance for the development and validation of a new conformational modeling method for carbohydrates. He was able to prove the method’s capability to accurately model linkage conformations by directly comparing experimental results to molecular dynamics and X-ray crystal data. In his postdoctoral studies at Northeastern University, Tim designed and synthesized novel saccharomutilins for the testing of their antibacterial activities and subsequent SAR development. His academic research involved close collaborations with computational chemists, biochemists, and microbiologists.
Tim has had research published in the Journal of Organic Chemistry, Journal of Physical Chemistry B, and Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics.
